Rancho
Tehama Reserve Elementary School
Home of the Rattlesnakes
All of our materials and
instruction are standards based. All
students are assessed
approximately every 8 weeks to determine how well they are progressing.
Report
cards are standards based and are issued at the end of each trimester.
Students in the Corning
Elementary School District are instructed using the 2002
Houghton Mifflin California Language Arts Program.
This balanced program includes
built-in resources for meeting individual needs – including hundreds of
leveled books,
resources for English Language learners, and powerful intervention programs –
ensuring
that no child is left behind.
Houghton Mifflin Reading delivers what today’s parents and educators are looking for:
· Evidence of effectiveness, based on scientific research
·
Powerful, comprehensive
instruction in the five strands of reading:
phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and
comprehension
· Assessment that diagnoses needs, informs instruction, and documents results
· Resources that meet the needs of all students
Rancho
Tehama Elementary School participates in the Reading
First Grant Program.
This website was made possible because of support from the Reading First
Grant.
All students are instructed
in math using the Harcourt Mathematics series.
This program
is standards-based and state approved. Students
are assessed at the end of each
instructional unit to monitor their progress towards mastery of the standards.
Mission Statement:
To give all students the opportunity to reach
established academic goals at all grade
levels, to encourage self
esteem, to promote pride in their schools and community,
